As Cast
As Cast steel is a ferrous alloy with a maximum carbon content of approximately 1.20%. (Used for Automotive & Non-Automotive Application). Steel castings are solid metal objects produced by filling the void within a mould with liquid steel. There are two processes of Steel Casting :
a. Continuous casting for making Slabs, Billets & Blooms
b. Ingot Casting
Ingots
Ingots are casted steel generally made by bottom pouring on mobile or fixed plates to produce round, square,
rectangular or polygonal sections. Today, some of the best steel plants can make up to 100 MT of single Ingots and BOS is associated with them.
Recommended usage in Industries
Typical application for conventional ingot casting includes :
- The Power Engineering industry (e.g. shafts for power generation plants, turbine blades)
- The Oil and Gas industry (conveying equipment, seamless tubes)
- The Aerospace industry (shafts, turbines, engine parts), Ship building (shafts for engines and drives)
- Tool making and Mechanical engineering (heavy forgings, cold, hot and high-speed steels, bearing, drive gears)
- As well as Automotive engineering (shafts, axes)
BOS Offering
BOS can procure and manage the supply chain of these Ingots in any grade or size from steel mills within
India and across world. We are supplying requested quantities to our customer's demands today.
Slabs
Steel slabs are generally strand cast and sometimes even rolled from Ingots. They are wide and rectangular in
shape. They are used for the manufacture of all 'flat' steel products such as coils, sheets, strip, plates and other
flat-rolled steel products.
Recommended usage in Industries
Typical application for conventional slab casting includes :
- The Construction industry is the largest consumer, accounting for approximately 50% of total world steel consumption
- The Transport sector (cars, trucks, aviation, shipbuilding, and rail) is the second
- The Machinery industry and metal products industry are the third
BOS Offering
BOS can procure and manage the supply chain of these Slabs in any grade or size from steel mills within
India and across world. We are supplying requested quantities to our customer's demands today.
Bloom & Billets
Continuous casting of steel is now the method of choice by all steel producers replacing the old method of ingot
casting. Some of the top special steel plants in the world can cast up to 1000 mm of Round/Rectangular Billets.
Recommended usage in Industries
- In most of the cases, Steel Billets are further processed and used as a feedstock for Extrusion, Forging, Rolling etc
- The heavy forge shops are using them extensively for production of engineering and machining parts and components like Valves, Large Bearings, Sleeves, Mechanical parts in industries as varied as Waterworks, Transport, Food, Industrial, Defense, Aerospace etc
BOS Offering
BOS can procure and manage the supply chain of these Cast Billets in any grade or size from steel mills
within India and across world. We are supplying requested quantities to our customer's demands today.
As Rolled
In metal working, rolling is a metal forming process in which metal stock is passed through one or more pairs of rolls to reduce the thickness, to make the thickness uniform and/or to impart a desired mechanical property.
Round / RCS Bars
Hot Rolled Bars generally come in shapes of Rounds, Round Cornered Squares (RCS), Flats and Hexagons. Majorly used
in hot die pressing and forging. They also undergo cold forging.
Recommended usage in Industries
- Hot rolled bars are ideal materials for many forging and machining applications, such as in Auto components manufacturing and Engineering components like, hydraulics, fittings, gear blanks, shafts, hubs, pistons, etc

Bars.Hexagonal Bars
Steel Hexagons are long steel bars having 6 sides.
Recommended usage in Industries
Typical application for conventional Hexagonal Bars includes :- They are used in a number of Engineering products such as nuts, bolts, hydraulic fittings, machined components etc

Bright Bars
Bright bars are raw materials that are created from steel alloys and stainless steel. They have a geometrically precise
molecular structure with an extremely smooth surface finish which always appears bright.
Recommended usage in Industries
Typical application for conventional Bright Bars includes :
- Various industries such as machined components, hydraulic fittings, pump shafts, fasteners, auto parts, construction, capital goods, valves, machine tools, dairy equipment, studs, bolts, pins, etc. use our bars
